January 5 to 29 – 2023

The first show of 2023 will feature the color blue as the inspiration in our members’ artwork.

Blue, indigo, cerulean, navy, and cobalt are just a few names for this historic color that has been valued from ancient history to the present. The color symbolized resurrection in ancient Egypt. In Roman frescos, blue evokes an enchanted paradise. Later in history, it clothes the holiest figures and is also used as a sign of peace. Psychologically the color blue is soothing and promotes meditation. Many villages are all painted blue in the Middle East and other parts of the world, to ward off evil. Blue-skinned deities project strength through this color.
This color enhances our natural world: the sky, the sea , and our liquid world.
