Students will develop and hone their rendering skills through direct observation of the natural world through the study of line, value, shape, texture, light, space, shadow, and composition. We will explore a variety of techniques and media such as charcoal, oil and soft pastels, graphite, pen and ink, conte crayon, etc. We work both in the studio and outside, weather permitting. Each class offers a couple of fun projects and there are no repeated projects throughout the series. This class is an ongoing, after-school series offered in the fall, winter and spring.
