Gahlia Powers

gahlia-150x150I’ve lived in the Healdsburg area for 11 years and been a jeweler for 30 years. I started my career in Atlanta, Ga where I grew up. After 4 years studying on a mentorship program with a local jewelry store I went on to work as a jewelry repair person, a designer and eventually a wax carver for numerous jewelry manufacturers in the Atlanta area.
In 1998 I moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming were I began to design and make my own work which was sold in several galleries, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art. I also designed and sold custom wedding rings. I design, carve, cast and finish all of my own work in my studio using all types of gold, semi-precious stones, and argentium sterling silver, which is much less prone to tarnishing, and can be cleaned with just baking soda!
I love creating unique jewelry, and love living in a place that is so beautiful, and a constant source of inspiration to me and so many other artists.
