Joyful 4-D Journaling: a Bookmaking Workshop for the New Year, taught by Book Arts Roadshow, is part hands-on workshop and part lecture, and provides hands-on instruction on how to make a unique accordion-based journal that provides nooks and crannies, flaps, fold-outs and pages on which to capture fleeting thoughts, record memories of the past, track small achievements, hold dreams for the future and express joy of the present moment.
During this relaxing, stress-free workshop and lecture, the instructors will share concepts that are alternative to traditional “diary” style journaling, focusing instead on ideas for non-linear journaling, micro journaling, visual journaling, incorporating 3- dimensional elements and considerations for folding time into the journaling process.
This workshop is for those who have never journaled before and are looking for a place to begin, and for those who have an existing journaling practice who would like to try something new.
(NOTES: We will take a couple of 5-minute hands-and-fingers stretch breaks during the session and a 10-minute snack break at halftime. No actual journal writing will take place during this workshop.)
