Landscape Painting in Oil

With Samantha Buller

In this one day workshop we will all work through a landscape painting together, with step-by-step instruction. Learn the steps to take in order to move throughout a painting and create a finished piece.

Choose to work from your own photograph or pick from a photo reference provided.

We will start with a one hour demonstration, followed by individualized attention. After lunch, a mid point critique will help students jump back in to their piece, leaving the rest of the afternoon to paint.

In addition to the items on the materials list (below) please bring one medium to large painting surface (18″x24, 20 x 20, 24 x 30 …)

About Samantha Buller

Samantha Buller lives in Sonoma County after painting and teaching in Kansas. She received her BFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Originally from the Bay Area, her work reflects the beautiful light and modernism that is found in Northern California. Her work has been shown in the Hall of Justice in downtown San Francisco, in business’ and several galleries, as well as on the set of a prime time television show.

She studied a semester abroad in Italy, which has greatly influenced her love and passion for the arts. “Italy was full of rich, golden colors. The culture is truly inspiring for any type of artist and to have the opportunity to paint while standing amongst an Italian sunflower field, should be one experienced by all.”
